Jim using an adjustable blade reamer to open up the holes in the brake hanger links (among other things). The fits on all the brake rigging were too tight to allow freedom of movement for the brake beam to follow the wheel flanges as the axles and wheels move end-wise within the truck frame. Drawings that are around call for the holes in the various brake components to be 1/64 inch larger than the pins. Ours were too tight, but this has been taken care of now, but it took hours to ream and measure 12 break shoes, 12 hanger brackets, and both ends of 24 hanger links. Two reamers were in use, one guy following the other, so that each tool did not need to be adjusted after every pass thru the items being worked.
