Rob welding the heads fast to the top of 1/2 by 10 and 3/4 by 10 bolts. These bolts were made from hot rolled steel and heavy hex nuts. Top end of rods were threaded for a really tight fit on the nuts, and the nuts then welded over. In the old days, a blacksmith would have peened over the end of the bolt. Nothing fancy, but serviceable, and lots cheaper than ordering from a supply house, and paying hefty UPS fees. These bolts are for securing the cut lever brackets.
