Repaired smokebox saddle resting on base of radial drill press. The two flanged stand pipes are new, and have been welded on to replace the old ones, that were cracked and wasted to the point of falling over. These two stands are the mounts for the twin exhaust tubes, so they are subjected to spent steam only. This repair would not have been attempted if they were on the feed side of the cylinders! The live steam enters the cylinders through the central opening between the stand pipes.
