Recent
Significant Web Site Changes
December 27, 2007: Replaced the old text-only Cass Roster
page with two illustrated pages created by Richard Sparks. Also
posted the pages for the 2008 Railfan Weekend and the special Elkins to
Cass excursion on May 14.
March 21, 2007: Changed the default font from serif to sans serif to make the text a little cleaner looking and easier to read.
March 13, 2007: Added
a page comparing the three types of geared locomotives. It is
based on the handout Richard Sparks prepared for Cass in July, 2006.
March 10, 2007: Added
a new album of photos of non-Cass raiulroad operations in West
Virgina. The album was compiled by Richard Sparks and it is hoped
that additional non-Cass photos will be displayed an future albums.
February 20-26, 2007:
Richard Sparks created several new photo albums containing
annotated photos of the old and new Cass shops, the lumber mill, Cass
train operations before the Park was established, and two albums of
early Park photos.
February 15, 2007:
Richard Sparks procuced photo albums for the Whittaker logging camp
project, the Spruce townsite, and the "wye" reconstruction project.
February 1, 2007: Following
a user request, the background color was changed to very light
green. Also, all pages were modified to display a graphic logo at
at the top of the page.
January 31, 2007:
Changed
the default background color from lime green to a more subtle light
tan. The green was a little too "in your face" when reading
the
pages.
January
15, 2007: Added a link
to the Climax Restoration Project page that points to a summary of the
January 6-7 work session. Hopefully there will be a summary
of
all significant future work sessions.
December
27, 2006: Put in the page for the 2007 Cass Railfan
Weekend. Updated the list of Climax Project work
session dates.
December 22, 2006: Fixed problems with sample Log Train PDF files
that made them unreadable on the Log
Train page. The files are quite large, but they
do work.
December 14,
2006: Added several photos to the album of shop and mill
photos. Added an album of Cass town photos.
December 11,
2006: Revised
main page to have eight clickable thumbnails instead of two larger
images. Added a photo album of winners and other photos from
the Greenacre Photo Award.
December 6, 2006:
The links to
the Shay 11 move photos and the photos of the old shop and mill now
work. The active links to photos now say "(works)".
December 3, 2006:
A completely new version of the Web site
went
operational. The new version is still a work in progress
because most of the 450+ photos from the old site have not yet been
moved to the new site. This should occur by late January,
2007.
Comments or complaints about the new site should be sent to
webmaster@msrlha.org.
